I get this wacky squeak. It's like rubber on rubber from a door seal being bounced really fast. It comes from under the passenger side dash, only when I brake, and only when the fan is on higher than 3 bars. It is very faint but gets louder the faster the fan runs. Once again, it is only when the car brakes so the nose drops. I think it has to do with the angle of the car almost like the housing is flexing or something. Anyone else ever experience this and what was the fix? I dont really want to just randomly start taking stuff apart.
Thx

I've a similar problem, my blower motor rattle when I pass over a pothole or similar bad surface!
It make rattle also with speed a 3, a sort of "grrr".

I've already dismounted the assembly to clean and check the motor, I've sprayed on the motor axis a sort of cleaner (similat to WD40), it went away for a while, but after some mounths it come back!

Sorry to can't help your.

Seems that motor blade made interfere, but was not clear to me, sorry.

...other problem on blower motor, not mine, are that they are prone to wear brush

I had a similar problem in my car. It started out as a chirp in the dash whenever I went over a bump and progressed over time so that it was audibly different with engine speed for a few minutes after start-up.

In my car the noise got worse as the weather got colder until it was unbearable at start-up in -20'C...which is kind of the best time to have a heater.

I pulled the motor to see what was going on and noticed a bit of rust on the spindle/shaft. There was also a tiny bit of resistance in the bearing.

It doesn't appear that the blower is easy to take a part so I used some WD40 and a straw as liberally as possible. Once the resistance was gone I reinstalled the blower and the noise went away for the rest of the winter/summer/fall.

Last week it started chirping again...it looks like I'll have to repeat the process.

Got fed up with this insane noise... found best price for OEM replacement ($132) at http://www.autohausaz.com

It is a :15 minute replacement...screwdriver and torx required. Ahhh silence at last.http://www.club202.com/forums/newreply.php?s=&action=newreply&threadid=8575#

Werd.

BoominBenz, I followed your guide, and it helped alot. But all in all I'll need a new blower motor eventually if I want to be rid of ALL the squeeks and rattles.

At least we all know exactly what the problem is now--AND ways to help/fix.
