How easy it to remove the stock coils and put in the H&R? Is the spring compressor for putting them in or taking them out? Or would having someone put them in be more cost effective. I've done plenty of mechanical work on cars, just never messed with the suspension. Thanks in advance. Also if anyone can lead me to a cheaper alternative for a MAF sensor I would appreciate it.

it takes a few hours to reinstall the springs, but if you have a mercedes spring compressor, it might take you an hour to complete your task.
as for the cheaper parts for your cars, I always use www.autohausaz.com

if your car is jacked up does it still need one of things? because when i had mine changed I just remember seeing them just take it off, the car was pretty high off the ground too, if that info helps anything

somewhere on here there is a thread on changing without a spring compressor...it involves using two jacks, and it helps if the car is on axle stands...its how i did mine...

Rear springs are easy, search for previous post on how to remove them. Everyone thinks front springs are hard, but they really aren't if you know what you're doing.

You can get a central spring compressor for less than $100 at some auto parts stores. This uses a threaded portion that goes in the center of the spring, rather than two that go outside the spring. It might be a little difficult to get it situated properly, but if you use common sense it's not hard. Compress the stock spring, take it out (which might involve disconnecting the lower control arm), uncompress it, compress the new spring, insert and uncompress. Make sure it's seated on the little indent on the lower control arm, let it settle for a couple weeks, have it aligned and you're done.

Be warned this can be very dangerous if you are careless, but is usually much cheaper than having a shop do it. A compressed spring that suddenly comes loose can kill you, so be carefull. I take no responsibility for anyone's actions as a result of this post.

ive seen a compressed spring go through a wall!

Be VERY carefull, if the spring bulges to one side on the spring compresser run for your life!
