Need help on center console part...

The child safety switch on the window switch console is broken/loose.

I opened it up today and found that one side of the button's clip thing has broken. In order for the back windows to operate with the switch has to be pushed down to work.

And I was wondering if there is a part number for this and where can I buy this part? If there isn't a part number for this switch I will probably buy a new window switch console.

Or I can just glue it.. :ermm:

Also... do you guys think I need a new switch for my back passenger window if the switch won't work? It works if I use the front console... thoughts?

Well, I hate to say it but ALL the buttons are one peice. Its a U-shaped part that goes around the shifter. It has all the window buttons, trunk, mirrors.... Unfortunately they run over $300 from the online parts warehouses. I'm sure that piece is very easy to find from a used parts yard.

check ebay everynow and then, i bought one for my ML a year ago and it was less then $50 shipped... very easy fix just pull the wood/CF trim off and then move the two latches to the release pos, pull plug wires and replace w/ new unit.

yeah my trunk release button was kinda worn out i went to the dealership and they told me i have to order the whole damn package...and then they told me i cant even do that, so i ended taking one out from another car...for free

ok thanks guys.. I guess ill buy one from eBay or something... its used i think.. but its from a W210 but the thing looks the same as mine... I think my trunk opener is a seperate switch so do you guys think it will work? cost about 60$

also. someone posted a link to www.allgermanparts.com and they have that part but cost over $180....

my other option is to glue it down? you think i should??

if you are buying off ebay ask for part number, and also verify with photo from seller, check your switches part number, they need to match EXACTLY or they will not work...

$60 is high, but better then dealer price

It is from an W210... But it looks exactly like the one have..

anyone know how to remove the wood trim pieces around the ash tray? My ash tray is not opening smoothly due to, too many coins in it at one time and now it won't open right.

ive had trouble with the part that surrounds the AC thing and the deck, mine cracked (damn Cali heat)

dealer : "around $500 backordered from germany and you will need to bring us you old one to see which model you need because they have differnt styles every 6 months" (or something like that)

yea ... but i got lucky ... used SAME exact style as mine ... on ebay, buy it now ... totaled at $40 shipped in great condition!
