I had my '97 C280 Sport in today for an oil change and decided to have the sway bar bushings and steering damper replaced after it was determined the last time I had the oil changed that they were worn or leaking and needed replacing. What a difference!. Steering is nice and tight (as a sport steering/suspension should be) and there is no longer a faint rattle up front that must have ben attributed to one of the items i had replaced.

My car has 106k miles on it and really makes my daily commute enjoyable. I still miss elemenets of my '87 535i, but this car has been a real trooper to me and required little daily attention. I plan on replacing the spark plugs tomorrow. Hope to experience noticable improvements afterward.

If you car still has the original sway bar bushings and steering damper after 100k, I recommend replacing them soon. then sit back and enjoy the ride.

I just had the sway bars done and it cost me $430 just for the bars. The dealer charges $115 / hour labour, says it took 2 hours.
