The W201 and W124 required a shaft change, the W202 should not, the shaft I used is from a 94 W202, so you should be ok.

That car in your signature must be one hell of a car. Paint it dark green and put some AMG wheels on it and give me a call :)

2Phast :

Great job man !

but is there a way to mount the 203 trim and shift lettering also ? you know ... make it look exactly like the 203 ? or is that simply impossible ?

I would rather have the leather boot instead of those ridges.

When I bought the knob, it came with the boot, shift ring, shift indicator S/W switch etc.

I spent several hours trying to figure out a way to use the complete assembly, but without heavy modification, there was just no way to make it work, at least on a W124.

The shifter trim is a different size, the shift indicator is fully electronic and so was the S/W switch, the leather boot is smaller than the shifter opening on the W124 also.

I have an illuminated Brabus shift knob with custom Brabus boot on my W202. I am very pleased on how it came out. I'll try to take some pics and post em up.

1993 W202s and early 1994 W202s require a shaft change as well...the early 202s have the same shafts as the 201s had (had t change mine as well to get an updated knob installed).

Ok, well the EPC lists the shaft with a model year break mid way in 94, so if you have a 94, check to see if the knob is molded into the shaft like the W124/W201 or if its a twist on type.

Part number for the shaft is 2022670401

I can't say for sure if all knobs are compatible with this shaft, but I do know that a W203 knob from a 2002 fit the shaft just fine.
