Alright I wanted to go with an aftermarket amp and sub install while keeping the factory headunit and Bose Amp powering the speakers. The problem is I am unable to wire the power wire to the battery without it blowing the 60A glass fuse that goes in between the amp and the battery. Can someone help me out with this, do I need a higher rated fuse? I have done installs before and have never had problems like. Also I located the bose amp in the trunk on drivers side and tried to locate the rear speaker wires. The color that I see actually coming out from the rear speakers is grey and grey/red stripe. The only wire similar that is going into the bose amp is grey and grey/brown stripe. I am guessing I can just install both the wires or just one of them to these to power the inline converter that I am going to use. Someone please help me out with these problems.

If you're blowing the 60A fuse, you should check if you have a short. I mean, you will not be drawing that kind of power just powering on the amp, I mean at 60As that's 720Ws. There is no was the amp draws that kind of power just on standby.

I am still unable to hear it work yet since I have to obtain my radio code from the dealer to get the radio back to working. I'll let you know how the sound quality is and will go through the process I took later this week.

Alright guys I finally got the radio code and finished the install. It sounds awesome! Having the extra low bass helps fill the sound out so much. Well on to how I did it. I wanted to put the amp that is not visible since I am wanting a clean install so I basically laid it down in the spare tire wheel. Luckily it fits quite nice in there so it doesn't move at all while cornering. Obviously wiring up the power and ground wires are very easy in our cars since our batteries are in the trunk. So I got 3ft. of power and ground cable and wired them up. The ground went onto the screw that holds down my cd changer. Just makes sure it has a clean connection by sanding the metal down to get a good contact. Next was wiring up the Remote wire which I took off the drivers side trunk panel that shows the factory bose amp. Search through all the wires that plug into the amp and locate the blue w/ white stripe one and tap into that wire to remotely turn your amp on when the bose amp turns on. Finally was wiring the amp through the rear speakers which I went out and got a line converter which has four speaker wires on one side and rca's on the other side that plug into the amp. On the wiring that plugs into the bose amp locate the grey and grey with brown stripe wire and wire both the left and right wires coming from the line converter to just those two wires. Then just hide all your wiring and wire the sub up. I am running just a single 10" MTX 8000 which is big power rated 10, and running off a rockford fosgate 550 watt rms amp. I would highly recommend anyone thinking about doing this to take the leap. There is nothing like keeping the stock look and having the great sound that just a sub adds.
