Well I' ve heard to stay away from the K&N filters because they will wreck your MAF.

I agree too. Try to stay away from K&N filters. They allow too much dust and rocks through. Stick with the OEM filter. Just my 2 cents.

there is nothing wrong with cotton gauze filters, as long as you dont over oil them.

i doubt ur car dosent have MAS....
as for the filter i had K&N and a OMP cone filter...decided to take them off cause didnt wanna risk frying my MAS for it....however it does add a nice sound to the car

really now!!.. they allow alot of rocks through huh? I think you have some major issues if rocks are getting past your filter!
I agree with jnenad16... as long as they arent over oiled.. they are fine.
I am using a cone filter.. works great.

well that's what i've been told by my local mechanic.....the c180 doesn't come with the mas system, it's a more simplified thing i think

There should be nothing wrong with using a K+N filter, you just have too make sure you do not put too much oil on it...way too many people freak out about it cause they don't know anything about it..

I had K&N on.
But I took it out and replaced it with OEM.
It definitely made my Accel more sensitive.

Right now, I feel like I'm now breathing through a cotton mask, but I know I'm much safer.

Only problem I had with the filter was:
When I tried to park my car after a high RPM drive, as soon as I shifted to "Park" gear, RPM jumped up to about 40-50(x100).
I had to kick the gas pedal past that RPM to settle the crazy behavior. I personally thought that the filter just let more air through than the computer thought it was.
