So im not sure if im missing something... but heres where im at... I have a 00 c230k ... Im installing a head unit in it... everything is wired up,when i turn the car on to test.. and nothing comes out of the speakers.... If I unplug and replug in the speaker part of the harness, while there is power the speakers will work... they will keep working until anything is changed on the head unit(IE: channel change, off and on, or cd put in)... is there something missing for the amp, or what? please help! thanks!

if ur head unit has a amp cancel or amp turn on/off feature, try switiching it off. i originally had this problem because of the bose amp. i installed a clarion pro audio which has this feature. when u combine the head unit amp and the bose amp which was factory installed if u have bose, there is too much signal between the two and the speakers start "scratching". i unplugged the bose amp and directly wired the speakers to the new head unit with new speakers wire and then turned the amp turn on/off feature to off. first i tested with the bose amp and the head unit. and after wiring straight the the deck these speakers scream alot louder. think about it, a new up to date head unit amp. or a 10 year old bose amp which was probably designed 20 years ago, which one do u think has better features? hope this helps, let me know

One day I will do this to my BOSE to make it even better. I prefer leaving it all stock but I do know that these speakers are being IMO underpowered from the stock head unit. They could go much louder I think.
