My w202 didnt come with a factory rear sun shade (do they anyways?) however, can one be put on? A manual one would be good.

I would like it for the look as I do have dark tints anyways.

yes you can put a manual shade.
I don't know if it's still available to buy though.

Bought mine at the dealership back in 98

you can buy an automatic one, then just find a way to run a switch. im sure its possible because on my 202 it has a place where u can put a sunshade but it doesnt have one either.

sunshade = Love it!

Hmmm...I didn't know a sunshade was available for the 202. Where would you reccomend getting one from?

if you choose the electric item...it is quit likely your 99 wiring loom has a spare plug on the back shelf along with one under where the switch usually sits, you may also need to replace the switch panel to accomodate it...

you should be able to find these parts from all decent MB parts suppliers including the stealership...

I have the manual one, it's nice! Can't tell how is the electric one.

I've posted somewhere the part number times ago if I'm not wrong!
You need the shade and a suitable "installation kit" provided with it, your Dealer should be able to find out the part number...at least I hope.

Sorry but I can't find now the part number. Costed me about 100 Euro.

can someone post the kit number if it comes with everything, is it a cheaper price, like the oem aftermarket wiperkit?

i have an electric rear sunshade, and i would recommend having one if you can get one for a reasonable price. i thought the name for them was an opera blind tho

the manual does look alot like the electrical from far..but if you look at it from within the car, they have a lot of differences, however i got my manual for 40 dollars, so i saved a lot of money on it

I have installed the OEM electric sunshade on my car. The price of the sunshade includes the motor.

Parts need off hand are the: sunshade, wire harness, new rear parcel, new shift surround and switch.

Install requires you remove the rear parcel and on vehicles with the split 60/40 seat this can be a real PITA.

Here are some links for more nfo:

joy of actually buying one (http://www.club202.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1338&highlight=sunshade)

Once you purchase the parts and have questions about installation post and I will help as much as I can.
