Where is airbag sensor locate?

I use C220 for 11 years. When my car got accident or crash. I never seen airbag explode that may be it is light. Last month i got an accident and this time airbag explode. I take my car to the garage to fix it. But i'm not sure where is airbag sensor locate. I need to replace it or not? I need to see this sensor

And i want to know about airbag system how it work thANK.

It is behind the ashtray in the central console. I think you need a dealer, or someone with Star Diagnosis software, to determine if it needs to be replaced. From what I have read, it can trigger at two levels. One doesn't require replacement, the other does.

I had to replace mine a couple years ago. Purchased a salvage part over the internet. It only took me around 15 minutes to replace. Then I took my car to a local shop to test and reset the entire SRS system. Working fine now!

FYI - I was told mine was bad by a MB shop that checked it after the SRS light started staying on constantly. However, I was not in an accident so I don't know why my original unit failed.
