I am updating my Stereo. But before I do, I have the following question. For a head Unit I want to pud the AVIC D1. It is a double din. I will have to move the ac controler to the bottom. Is this possible do I have to get extended wires to do that. Also will the Avic. I know I have to cut the grill you know what I mean. has any of you try this before? Any advice will help

No, it's no problem. Basically, what you need to do is take the coin tray and probably a hack saw and cut the ENTIRE back end off of it to use it as the frame and then slide it over the A/C controller and then screw it back into place and it will look great.

exactly. i did that to my head unit and now it's sitting in where the pocket used to be.
look around and see the COMAND install threads on this forum. the guys with those all had their AC placed below.
