'95 C220 Engine shakes...

Ive got a 95 c220 and the engine was shaking previously, so I replaced the plugs but the not the wires and it stopped for a few weeks. Now its doing it again, and pretty bad at that. It stalls sometimes going in reverse.. and shakes when its in gear and standing.

have you looked at the motor mounts? just an idea.

Its not that kinda of shaking, also, in neutral it only revs to 4,000 rpm so Its gotta be misfiring in one way or another.

Could be, this car is at 158,000 miles and as far as I know everythings original, except the sparkplugs which I replaced.

think so? I just ordered a set of spark plug wires, how hard is it to replace a harness?

about 600 bux I hear. If you are very careful take your harness out and make your repairs with new wire.

I had this problem about 2 years ago. I was told to reset the car by disconnecting the battery. It works but it would come back later. So I brought it to the dealer and they told me that it was the battery? They replaced it along with a new MAF and some sensor thing, I forgot. And the shaking is gone.

How long did you leave the battery disconnecteD?

Not that long. Like 10 secs? or so.. But I wouldn't recommend doing that. You will need to re-active your radio with the code.
