does anyone know the part number to this or even know what it is called? it looks like a bolt with rubber surround on it. mine is ripped up, worn out, cut up, and torn up like a mother.. anyone else have this issue?

that is the upper ball joint, but unfortunately for you, it comes as an assembly with the upper control arm.

Even if you could unbolt it that doesn't mean MB will sell it that way.

Ditto,

You'd have to buy the whole upper control arm.

That ebay price is so cheap for a pair especially. Last time I checked the dealer sell them for around $260 each..

are you replacing it just because the rubber is damaged? as long as there is no play or clunking noise coming from it, you dont need to replace it.

i am getting some clunking noises. when going over bad roads my car gets really loud. i think this is responsible for that as i have already replaced the lower control arm bushings, lower ball joints, front springs, and shocks. this seems to be the only thing i havent replaced yet, and it does look pretty bad.

I replaced both of my upper contol arms, bought from Orileys, 88 each. Not too hard to put in, it took about 30 mins for both side but I had use of some air tools. Mine was making some clanking too, but I replaced the shocks first and it stopped, no signs of tire wear but I replaced the control arms anyway.
