I replaced my plugs and wires but my C220 is still shaking.. So I removed some of the plugs to look at them. It seems as if the second one isnt firing.. I don't know what to do.
Im not sure if this has something to do with it.. but the day before it started shaking I put STP Fuel Injector Cleaner in my tank..

Hey, I am having similar problems but mine are worse. I suggest just forking out 100 bucks to get it scanned, you will save money in the long run by finding the cause instead of throwing parts at it. I doubt the fuel injector cleaner hurt anything.

After reading some of your posts I see we have the same exact problem. Does your car creep when you floor it. As in you floor it and the car barely moves, and by 4,000 rpms its just worthless?

It did this morning, I got off of the highway, and it started shaking like it was going to fall apart. I turned the car off, and turned it back on and the problem when away. As long as I don't give it more than 1/3 throttle it wont do it. I am sure it will get worse. I am spending the 105 bux to get the problem pinpointed. I'll let you know what I find.

Actually it would shake while moving between 1k and 2k rpms. After that it didnt.

!!! my car shakes from 600-2000 RPMs, more than that and it stops! we do indeed have the same situation on our hands.. now what to do about it?
I called up my benz dealership and got an ignition coil for the cylinder thats not firing, which is cylinder 2.. Ill be picking that up tomorrow but Im not sure how to install it.. If someone could give me a guide or something?
I may just end up installing it with my autos teacher at school.
In the meantime I'm not driving it, I'm afraid that if Its shaking like this too often it may losen the motor mounts, then Ill have a problem on my hands.. a big one at that.
PS: MECP, do you have AIM? I'd like to keep in touch until one of us resolves this issue

Found my problem, I went to replace my ignition coil today, failed miserably, got nowhere. I'm taking it into to Knauz because my dad knows a guy.. So anyway. As my dad and I were tryin to get the old ignition coil out, we saw that at the point where the wire meets the ignition coil "box" part on my c220, the wire sleeving was cracked and the actual wiring was visible (copper lines).. So I dont know what to do about it. I'll leave it up to Knauz to figure that one out.

My car started doing the exact same thing first seemed like a bad spark plug wire boot so I changed it ... worked fine for a couple of days then the same thing again. So I took it down to the shop and what was found was that I had a bad injector and wire harness. They actually refused to touch it until the harness was changed and it was throwing all kinds of codes. By the time that I finished replacing all that they found wrong with the car I was in the pocket for $2800 with the wire harness costing $1200 of that.
You may really want to have the harness inspected before you do anything else.

My car was only giving one code and it was fuel injector, I got it replaced and its been running smooth. I think my harness is still alright.
