Door maggots/worms!!!

In the week I decided to fit the new Kenwood Speakers (much better than stock) to my w202.



After opening the door trim on the drivers side & looking into the round speaker hole I noticed that it was full of 1" deep mud - still damp!



After spending about 15mins scooping out around 1kg of what looked like fresh horse shit I noticed 100's of grey WORMS/MAGGOTS... still moving - having a party in the pile of mud.





Dont worry, I was wearing gloves. question is, how on earth did all that mud get there? why was it so damp? and how on earth did I get all those stowaways???



Had a look under the door & there is a tiny 3mm slit/hole.

club202 is having some turbulent times lately. there's that other dude talking about explosions in his engine bay and now we've got maggots from a old member.

My first reaction was "flood damage". Water and or mud(muck)
all the way past the bottom of the doors.
Start looking into the history of the vehicle and you might have some answers.
I'd probably have to sell it if it was my car. Just creepy!!

Thanks for the replies. I have checked all the other doors & none else are effected.

Ive owned it for 3 years this may & have never drove through a river etc or noticed a smell...

Did help dispose of that pile of human corpses last year though... ;)

maby the previous owner dented that door and got a new second hand one which had been sitting around outside. was the door a different colour under the trim?
