Personally, I prefer Koni Yellows. They are adjustable. You have three setting: Soft, Medium, Hard. My 43 is set to hard and I do not think it's that rough. It rides like a sports car to me, not as soft and luxurious as stock. You feel the bumps, but on really smooth roads, its great!

Keep in mind that those Koni shocks are only for the Rear, the Fronts are another $200ish. Both Koni and Bilstein make great shocks. Konis are a little more expensive, I had them on my previous car (non-MB) and they were great.

KONI Yellows adjustable, no question..! H&R's are pretty good but if you want some serious springs try the Vogtlands. (I think thats their name :P).

I'm running Koni yellows with H&R springs, love it.
Adjustable is awesome. I got 'em at (shox.com) cheap.
That's my vote.

same set-uo ou your;)

My Koni are externally adjustable.

Pay attention because there are 2 differents Koni yellow, only the latest product (released abt 2 years ago, at least here in my Country) are externally adjustable, and obviously cost a little bit more!:p

both two are available as I know...here.

Ride is great really like a train, but I suffered a lot the loose of comfort from factory elegange set up.:(

Hiboss, as you can probably tell by the voting, people on the whole feel that what they actually bought is the best.

The conclusion that I would have is that either option will probably work perfectly well for you, unless you have some specific criteria that would cause one to win out over the other.

(I happen to run the H&R/Bilstein combo)

as far as mine koni yellow externally adjustable, I confirm that you will well notice the difference.

settled in the middle was really firm so I adjusted to only a quarter turn from the lowest setting (it's still a really firm ride respect factory).

I can't imagine how hard it will be at the highest setup!;)

As suggestion: to avoid setting to full turned setting (both clockwise or anticlockwise) this to avoid any risk of stuck of the internal hyd. valve.

The difference is reeeally noticeable, like between a 2CV car and a DTM car!! :p OK i overdone it a little. ...A LITTLE! No way you cant tell the difference bro.

which one people usually get?

Definitely Bilstein SPORT. The HD are "heavy duty," which is pretty much just an OEM replacement. The Sports are made for better handling and lowered vehicles. Even if your car isn't lowered, Sports will still work.

I have both on two different cars. I prefer the H&R/Bilsten to the B&R/Koni adjustables. But the springs in the C36 are cut by a half spring so that may have something to do with it. You have to make this choice based on:

1.) Engine (wieght)
2.) Wheel size/tire size
3.) Where you drive (NYC vs. Cali)
4.) How much you can take on long drives.

Either set-up you'll love. When you step up to Moton or Ohlins, then you'll won't go back...
