Just when i thought the car gods had delt me a good hand...I get these back from the engineering firm....one is centred but the peg is not...the other is offset from center and the angle is all wrong...turns out the single brain cell guys who poured the rubber had to remove the engineers jigs for prep....and you know the rest....

-I can see its not going to work,as it only takes a slight angle to stop the mounting bolts from screwing in as iv had trouble with the OEM ones before!....
-its very hard to strip them out again....
-i havent payed for them...

Do i get pissed off and make them buy new ones to make custom again???

my 1000 post wasnt as exciting as i had have wished....................

that sucks dude.. even if you havent payed.. take them back and have them redo them.. you asked to have something done.. and done right. these are no good to you as they wont properly fit back into your car to hold the motor straight.. take them back and have them redone.
man not much is goin right lately.

p.s. CONGRATS on 1000 posts!

thanks guys!...
yeh i guess it'll just have to go back and be re-done!...sad thing is its likley they will have to purchase new engine mounts to do it as is extremely hard to get this stuff back out!!!...which is likley to get all ugly!...maybe i'll just have to put my engine all back together for now and risk damaging the header and insulation due to massive engine movment from the OEM mounts...Im outa time also and just need to get it running.

get it redone.. its a shame companies that do custom work are suck idiots!!.. where has all the quality work gone to?
I dont think you will risk damaging anything with the OEM mounts.. just wont be as rock solid as those custom mounts is all.
but get it running!!!

the problem witht the OEM ones is i can sway the engine by hand and have the header hit the strut tower...imagine it under launch!!!
for three hours last night i fitted the engine mounts...alittle ugly...but it worked...i snapped the locating pins off,but the bolts wouldnt line up and the locating part on the bottom wouldnt either...so i jacked it up so that i could get both bolts in,but not up tight, then slowly droppped the engine, theres plenty of Pre-stress on the mounts after doing them up,so i hope that doesnt effect how they last....wish i had time to wait for better ones....but i dont,as they need to be fitted before the turbo setup....
AND DAMN THEY ARE ROCK SOLID....now i hope vibration doesnt
drive me nuttier than i already am lol

man sucks bout the mounts! hadnt thought about one of those engine stabaliser shocks mounted on the top of the engine to stop twist?
but it all good you got them in, yea hopefully thell last with tension on it, if they dont i guess you can take back broken ones and theyl have to fix them, but you sound rangi like me, if things dont fix, just make them, and if you can't get them in with a small hammer just use a bigger one :D

good luck getting it on the road! i wana fly to auckland just to come for a ride ;)

Hey logan!...
yeh had thought about the stabiliser for some time...but decided it would be a pain to install, and would look alittle off...
lol big hammers are the only way!...perfection went out the door long ago!

well...its almost there!...today i had the man finish the welding on my Radiator tank, water pump, rad hoses and W/G feed(yip even on a public holiday which was lucky!)...
so tomorrow its off to get 10M of various samco hose, about 3M of braided hoses and so many little alloy fittings that will add to cost as much as the turbo for sure!...
haha yeh if you come up i'll be glad to show you how it goes man!(if it goes)
