AC compressor

my AC compressor is kicking the bucket these days as it makes the knocking noise around certain rpms. it sucks. so i have decided to replace it before it blows up and taking the belts with it. so guys, where do u think i should go from here? are the rebuilt ones reliable? how about new ones? where do u suggest to get it for the best price?

might as well go with rebuilt ones since they carry the same warranty as the new ones(1 year, most of the time), plus they are like half the price or less.

it seems like that 202s got different types of ac compressors over the years of production. having a 99' c280, does it matter if i use a compressor from earlier year 202s? anyone know where to get them for cheap? these stuff are like $500+ for a pop OEM new.

check with www.germanstar.net or www.autohausaz.com sometimes you can find it on ebay, too.
