Just instore a pair of front bumper light, not sure the workshop is connected them right. I need to turn on high beam to turn them on, is it normal or it should be turned on by pulling out the fog light button once?

My ride is 96 C230, thanks!

Your meant to pull the switch out once for front, twice for rear.

Sounds like they have messed up!

Thanks BBW!

That's the switch(button) I mean, so I need to go back to have them fix.

Thanks! But I just read the same discussion that you attached. To me, it seems like there is different way due to the wiring. But my guess should be one pull the switch will lit up the front bumper light, pull twice will lit up the rear fog light.

That is how my C43 is setup. I do recall my C280 doing the same, but my fogs were in the headlight assembly, not the bumper.

That is also how I assume my 1996 C36 should work. But at the moment one pull illuminates the fogs in the HEADLIGHT assembly and second pull also illuminates the driver side rear fog. My bumper fogs will not illuminate at all!

There is evidence that my front bumper was removed and replaced for a respray before I bought the car. So perhaps the electrical loom was not reconnected correctly or maybe the technician rewired it to the way he thought all Merc's should work!

The good news is there is no fog in sub-tropical Brisbane so the fogs are never required!

So I am going to ask the technician to re-wire like this, thanks to all
