looks good. i assume you bought the assembly as is, and then just ran the wires from the rear deck up the c pillar and in the headliner.

came out very nice though!!!!!!!!! i like the 1st pic.

you wouldnt beleive how much i paid .... I went to pick n pull, yanked it off a 95' Jetta LMFAO and wire it just like you said.

totalled at $5 !

used 3M doube-sided tape to mount, the tape is very strong and resists the heat from sun.

Nice mod. Looks good and makes the spoiler better.

great mod. now this is cheap and practical.
i have the same spoiler and it somewhat blocks the 3rd brake light, so to a degree u don't get to see the light itself from behind. this mod solves everything.

I got a few other little things done. nothing out of the ordinary.

ill give you the link to my CarDomain when I get that updated.

The spoiler is why i started this whole thing. just got lucky it turned out so cheap N easy! now I gotta get tints and try to find clips to plug those four hole left from the stock light. if I dont, Oh-well no ones gonna see those holes there anyway.

i think if i had it, when my subs hit, it would fall down

the double-sided tape is very strong, its the same tape they use to mount exterior side panals on SUV's.

Looks good, but I think it would look even better if you had LEDs on the spoiler

I was thinking that but theres no way I would of molded an LED strip into my spoiler, its just too thin and I actually like lip spoilers better, this one seems too flimsy. :(

I'm kinda lukewarm to it, but I think you did a really clean install. Did you do it mainly for looks, or because you want a more visable brake light? Oh, yea, I'm not a big fan of LED's lights in general, so my opinion is from that point of view.

I dont really know if its for looks or visibility but leaning twards visibility! the install will look perfect when I get my windows tinted, but for now its ok.

to tell you the truth ... these arnt LED's ... they are just small bulbs like the ones inside your gauge cluster but they are the same as LED's.

Thanks!

i've been wanting to do something similar ever since i installed my system. the stock brake light rattles like crazy and has even rattled out the rubber o-ring gasket thing.

don't be mad when i copy you ;)

hmmmm, so weird usually im either extreme like or dislike on a mod but i really cant decide on this one... clean install though.! i dunno bout 3m tape i know its strong but i would be scared on a date one day and decides to unstick and crash down...embarrassin. lol.. any other way to mount it?

nice mod man, but would it have not been better if you installed it the same place as the old light ??

oh boy not this ol thread ... LoL I ran the original wires up the C-piller and connected to the Hella Brake light. all I did was extend and relocte the wires.

@rman, go ahead you can copy, thats why I posted this thread to show you guys an idea.

@1SIKBNZ, this thread is old. ive had the brake light up there ever since ive posted the thread ... and its still up there! ;) even though I drive like a moron sometimes and have a shitty bandpass box bumping two 12"s, and it makes things SHAKE!! but it still holds. LoL I dont usually date girls in the back of my car since I dont want any 'stains' and they have rooms for that
;)

@Abuimad, well the only reason I even did this was because my spoiler sorta blocked my stock brake light. so you get the idea.

Great MOD! I was thinking of doing that but I found a lip spoiler with LED lights so I went that route. Anyway, how did you remove the OEM third brake light? Did you do anything else aside from using the existing wires? Did the light sensor from your cluster come on?

i used a flathead and just yank the fucker out.

i moved the wires up the C-pillar and the the light on the dash never came on, gave me no problems and still works perfect . ! :)

ya im also getting tints so those 4-holes wont be visible.
