wissling sound?

i changed my grill to an avantgarde grill,this is not oem, meaning it's missing those 2 dirt caps on each side inside the grill.now when i drive fast with my car it makes a whisteling sound almost like a kompressor car!!!!!!!!! the sound comes from the front somwhere? have you noticed anything like this?

those 2 dirt caps missing=is this bad for the engine? sucking up more crap in the airfilter compartment>?
