man i was nervous...its been 6 months and too much dollars to remember......the thought of a fuel/oil leak was a big concern, but so was the fact that the A/F ratios better be right!...
i took out the spark plugs and disconnected the injectors, then wound it over until i got oil press on the newly installed Defi display...
installed the plugs etc and after about 4 quik turns it started up...damn what a relief!...I did rewire the harness correctly LOL
after a few quit checks i slapped a stocking over the intake(as it dont have a filter yet) and proceeded to take it for a cruise....
i punched it alittle and the engine was hesitant...so i just cruised alittle and punched it again......this time boost spiked and the engine went POP......after a quik pit stop back home to reattach the IC piping...,i realised the banjo fitting on the wastgate was not tight...which means no action, and hence no boost control(as boost control is not being used just yet and W/G is set to 5.8psi....)
Once that was sorted it was back out and then i noticed it cut out alittle at 6K under WOT,but later on when i took it down the motorway it was fine....the ECU has been disconnected for the last 6 months though...
got back home, lifted the bonnet and the turbine housing had burnt a hole in the bonnet insulation,so will need some high temp matt there for sure!!!...
but apart from all that it runs very smooth on the low boost setting at the moment...it definalty doesnt have the very low end any more...but the mid and top is a whole new story!
there is only one problem...the engine mounts are way too hard and shake shit out of the car...so will be doin somthin about that very soon!
so next will be to finish off the oil seperator and intake and get it on the rollers to raise boost and check the A/F....
will keep you all posted and should hopfully get some video footage around that time...
