man i was nervous...its been 6 months and too much dollars to remember......the thought of a fuel/oil leak was a big concern, but so was the fact that the A/F ratios better be right!...

i took out the spark plugs and disconnected the injectors, then wound it over until i got oil press on the newly installed Defi display...

installed the plugs etc and after about 4 quik turns it started up...damn what a relief!...I did rewire the harness correctly LOL

after a few quit checks i slapped a stocking over the intake(as it dont have a filter yet) and proceeded to take it for a cruise....

i punched it alittle and the engine was hesitant...so i just cruised alittle and punched it again......this time boost spiked and the engine went POP......after a quik pit stop back home to reattach the IC piping...,i realised the banjo fitting on the wastgate was not tight...which means no action, and hence no boost control(as boost control is not being used just yet and W/G is set to 5.8psi....)

Once that was sorted it was back out and then i noticed it cut out alittle at 6K under WOT,but later on when i took it down the motorway it was fine....the ECU has been disconnected for the last 6 months though...

got back home, lifted the bonnet and the turbine housing had burnt a hole in the bonnet insulation,so will need some high temp matt there for sure!!!...

but apart from all that it runs very smooth on the low boost setting at the moment...it definalty doesnt have the very low end any more...but the mid and top is a whole new story!

there is only one problem...the engine mounts are way too hard and shake shit out of the car...so will be doin somthin about that very soon!

so next will be to finish off the oil seperator and intake and get it on the rollers to raise boost and check the A/F....
will keep you all posted and should hopfully get some video footage around that time...

i thought this was a much more serious pop than just something coming loose! awesome that it's running well (at all :D ) I still can't wait to see the final product, especially with your new wheels!

Almost had to use it this morning when the purpose built tubine housing cover started spewing smoke out from under the bonnet...LOL man did i panic...so i chopped it off and will now need alternate methodes of protecting the paint on the bonnet!!!

also i disconnected the battery for a while today....now when i drive it it cuts out at around 3500rpm...which could be leaning out!!!...so it maybe wise to start looking at a quality A/F meter and lamda sensor(as i installed two bungs in the down pipe for it...

is there any type of like a cermaic coating or rhino lining spray that is fire and heat proof that isnt totally heavy?

Great news that its up and running. THat was Jason's car that caught fire. I think the turbo caught the sound deadening material on fire and it grew from there but he disagrees. My olf Mosselman turbo kit made a big deal to remove sound deadening material!

Yeh the sound deadening is bad stuff when combined with heat!,looks like i'll be making a stainless steal shield for around the turbine housing as it works well, also i found out the reason why the turbo bennie may have burnt due to it being too loose,so will test this theory shortly...

Its looking like i'll be remaking the manifold before any cruise's Tom...as its too close and hits the strut tower under load...,
also i have a part throttle cut off problem,so have ordered an LM-1 wide band A/F meter from US along with underbonnet heat sheild and also a Greddy temp sensor and twin Apexi filters from Japan...which should filter better than my gurls stockings lol as theres dust everywhere in the intake....

as where moving house and cant find another we like, the mercs going into lockup for the time being...though iv just called Kev to get some genuine C36 sides...should be good!.

thanks for the comments guys,laters
