i used it to lube it up and get it in there better, and make sure its in the correct place. Also it prevent squeaking down road from the pad.

Whoa.. I have always done it the other way around. I took the upper ball joint out (steering knuckle) -- You just have to be careful not to damage your brake rotors as the steering knuckle goes free.

And at the rear I simply took out the inside bolts of lower arms.

Are you going to post instruction for the rear too?

Good job! I like the write up - pretty clear to me! You might wanna mention a few tips how to put that ball joint back on. It could be tricky ;)

we should really have one shared klann spring compressor...makes the fronts sooo much easier.

you did not mention anything about the springs, i guess they should be easier to take out.

once you take the top shock bolt off, and take the bottom ball joint bolt off, i think its a 19mm bolt then seperator the ball joint witha sperator tool. then remove the whole spindle off and push down the lower the control arem viola spring comes off. be care full.

Hold it with what?

It sounds like you need to stop this and seek professional
help. You're gonna get hurt really bad. The springs are
under a lot of tension/stress so they can come flying
off and end up right in the middle of your face.
