Im on Ate stock calipers and I would like an upgrade. Since I cant afford AMG's, Brembos etc, I would like to upgrade my rotors / disks and pads to better ones, cause the ones I have now on, arent enough. So same diameter rotors. I would like to install cross drilled and double (like, vented) rotors or whatever on my stock calipers. (Ignorance is a virtue. Or not!). I found many brands on the internet but I dont know which one is better. Please help me out and save my ass guys. Thanks.

What's the year and model of your car? You can upgrade to StopTech rotors and Axxis/Hawk pads, and keep stock caliper.

Its a C200 Kompressor w202 sedan 1997 model. Here is a pic of MY caliper. Apart from StopTech, any other brands that I shoould check? And some links would be nice. Im more interested in rotors cause I already have a new front set of Ferodo pads still boxed.

Below are SportStop rotors from StopTech. Available in drilled or slotted. It fits C280, but not sure on C200K.

the cheapest way, in my opinion, is to stick with ate products. their powerdisks are great rotors, and their slotted brake pads should do the trick. cheaper than OEM, but the same or somewhat better performance, plus the slots in the rotors and pads will vitrually eliminate brake fade.

:hmmm: I see. Basically what I want you to tell me is some rotors brands and models that you have already tried on and / or know about their quality, price etc. Any particular set of rotors that is quite good, but still fits my calipers. And pads too. i.e. the other day I found a pair of Tarox rotors, the G88 model, and I didnt know if it was a good set or not, if the price was OK etc. (They said that it didnt fit to Kompressor models so nvm thatone). Thank you so much for the effort guys.
How about brembo and EBC by the way? And which Ate rotors?

I am running Powerslots and they seem to
perform really well. Also using Akebono
Euro ceramic pads. Big improvement over
stock.

I had the ATE power slot disc up front with porterfield R-4S pads all around and it was great

Yeah, ATE powerdisk rotors are the ones I and others are talking about. as for the pads, to my knowledge, ATE makes one type of pad, and it has very good friction, plus its slotted in most applications, so the combo of the two works very well at combating brake fade, which in my opinion is the biggest problem when it comes to stopping from high speeds. I have used this setup on my 300SE and I loved it, plus it cost me less than half as much as stock parts.
if you really want to invest in good rotors, look no further than powerslot cryo treated rotors. they will last 2-4 times longer than any other rotors, plus they are very resistant to warping and cracking.

:hmmm: I like that...
Any links apart tirerack? (I found thatone). Some EU dealers would also be nice.

hm,thats strange, I know they make them for the 95 C280, which is what I almost bought way back, but I opted for EBC pad and rotor combo instead. maybe they have no post 98 applications. however, the pre and post 98 brake rotors should be the same, I replaced so many of them, I dont recall any noticable differences between the two.

Just dont buy brembo regular brake rotors. I wish I still had my stock because the brembos rust really bad. Bad enough that I want to go to autohausaz.com and spend the extra 10 dollars per rotor and change them all back to oem
