need engine wire harness

well I need a harness for my 1995 that is hesitating and backfiring intermediatly. I called the $tealership and they want $1247 for a new one for my car, they say I need the more expensive one since my car is a later model 95???? does anyone know where I can get this thing cheaper, I got the part number from them it is 2024407905 Please let me know if you have any information.

$1247 for just the part?! That sounds kinda high. Hit up MercedesShop.com and ask for a quote where it says "Buy Parts". I was quoted in the $600 range last summer.


After looking at the EPC, there are three different ones..

202 540 40 32 which is up to VIN Ident F159969

202 440 79 05 is from VIN Ident of F159970 and up until the end of model year 1995.

the AMG Harness is the one that is over $1200ish.


The the 202 540 40 32 is around $700

202 440 79 05 is around $900-1000


I'd try the MercedesShop quote and also call any other dealers in the area. Many of them have varying prices.
