My check engine light lit up this morning. I hooked up my Acton code reader and got code P1700. The P is power train related, the 1 means a Mercedes-Benz manufacturer specified code Number and I don't know what the 700 means. Does anybody?
From P0001 to P0999 are generic power train faults which my Acton booklet describes. The booklet has nothing for manufacturer specific code numbers.
I called M-B roadside assistance and this was way over their head. They had no idea.
I'll try my dealer on Tuesday after the holiday weekend...I was hoping somebody might have had this code number before.
I'm expecting it to say something like: "Time to change transmission fluid or something like that."
My car is a 1994 C280. Thanks
