Waddup all, first post glad to be in the best of the best mercedes site/202 site on the planet. I have to replace a coilpack and o2 sensor (rear and bought another to do the precat (114k service)and found these sweet deals on ebay and saved a bundle. Haven't heard about the universal o2 Bosch's, but 4 wires and made by Bosch don't imagine it should be a prob. Laters. o2 sensor (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-BOSCH-UNIVERSAL-OXYGEN-SENSOR-97-03-MERCEDES-C230_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33557QQihZ019QQite mZ8053272868) Coilpack (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-MERCEDES-BENZ-IGNITION-COIL-W202-W124-W140-W129-104_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33689QQihZ019QQitem Z8047163592QQtcZphoto)

the universal O2 sensors are a great way to save some money, BUT its a hit or miss game because they might not be fully compatible with your car due to incorrect resistance in the signal input/output circuit. case in point, I had a customer who replaced the O2 sensors on his 740i with universal 4-wire ones like yours, but the problem came back about an hour later. it didnt get fixed until I installed the OEM ones(which were only $20 more each).

fingers crossed.

I knew the risk at chancing with universals. just couldn't find any info with their compatibility for the 202. Figured I could gamble not too much money @ $25x2=$$50 front and back. I'll post my results, good or bad.

...Honolulu, Hawaii, sweet bro!!

#2 cyl coilpack.

in my trouble shooting which of the two coilpacks to replace I pulled ignitions wires one at a time and checked my scanner to see what code it would throw. Oddly enough looking at my 98 c230, front of healights looking at the engine bay, the cylinders misfired in this order front to back, 3,2,1, and i didn't check the most rearward so I figured that was 4.

my code 302 (2 designated second cyl) was fixed after replaceing the front coilpack. yea boi!! $50 ebay. EZ, don't pay to replace your wires or coilpacks.

I have these set of universal bosch o2 sensors on the way, thinking it could have also been possibly these guyz throwing my car into limp mode. Guess I'll swap them out since there about 114k old now. Cheers.
