It can be kind of picky. Some burners
work better than others. Also, sometimes
it needs "played with" to get it to
recognize the Cd's.

elaborate on played with please. I have a newer cd burner and new computer I just built custom for myself. I've been reading about various ways to burn the disc so ill give that a go in a few.

I have heard that CD-RW cd's will not work. So far the Mercedes changers in my 97 C280 and 02 ML play CD-R's.

I used to play burnt Cd's all the time but I think Mbsickness is right it might only play CD-R's

I use the cheapest blank cds you can find...to me a cd is a cd....Pacific Mall (for those of you who are in Toronto) a box of 100discs for $20.

The trick for MB cd players is you must burn it at the slowest speed. Not 52x speed!! I do usually 8 or 12x speed..takes 10 mins.

I usually burn at 12x or 24x. Try just
doing a straight copy - it seems to me
they tend to work better. I think most
of mine have been CD-R, but if you finalize
your cd it should not make a diff.?

Playing with it: reset the cassette a couple
times, turn the radio on and off. Basically
anything to make it retry reading.

I have tried many kinds of copier programs, easy, nti, nero, ect and sometimes it makes a difference and sometimes not I normally use good cds such as memorex or tdk, and I usually get problems with being able to change tracks, reading, or ff/rw but cds I have used that did work were I had these old ass compusa black 16x cdrs that work np, i also use a plextor drive burn at 12 or lower, I have yet to figure it out, cause I have had cheap cds work and not work, same for good quality ones, in all sorts of programs, and a few burners, what I can't understand is why it won't read burned cds well... wtf mercedes....

I use a Plextor DVDR PX-712A and Nero 6.3.1.20 with Princo CD-R media (I've gone through at least 6-8 spindles of 100) burning at 48x (7,200 KB/s).

No failures ever, and it works in the stock changers for a '97 w210, '02 w208, and the most picky of my CD changers a '95 Tahoe with an old Sony 10-disc changer.

well i told my dad the problem the other day. Whats he do to fix it, freaking takes the magazine out puts it in waits a few minutes turns radio on turns it off and presto freaking works I guess thats why he makes the big bucks. The only thing I find weird about it is sometimes it will skip through the track a few seconds, but besides that its all peaches
