Carbon fiber vinyl... made a booboo

I was putting carbon fiber vinyl over my trim and i took out the cup holder cover by pulling off the two arms (didnt know i could just unscrew it at the time.. Anyway I didn't know that thats where the springs were and now I can't get it back on right? What to do?

can't you just pull the whole contraption out; base, arms and all?
