So about a month or so ago I noticed my car was bottoming out a lot in the back right, i asked a few people and di not get a clear answer, so I went to a shop to get my tires rotated to find my bilstein sport shock had burst, leaking and everything, I don't have a proof of purchase but the boxes and everything and when i tried to call them they said i was sol, I was wondering if there was any place I could buy a bilstein shock just one, the back right? i tried to search but did not find much luck because tirerack does not sell them anymore I found this http://www.performanceproducts4benz.com/ProductPage.aspx?pid=101016&name=Bilstein+Shocks&type=20&vehicle=26805

but the back says
Rear Shock (No Hydroneumatic)
Part Number: 32-137 is that right, I need the sport version, someone please help

Would this be the cheapest and or right part numbers, the performanceproducts site list it different, would that just their own numbering system? What about the Rear Shock (No Hydroneumatic)
Part Number: 32-137 could someone explain that to me, are the shocks listed on eshocks hydroneumatic?

I know of a guy that made his own invoice as a proof of purchase and had has shocks revalved by Bilstein :-)

europartscatalog.com
shockdude.com

I think they all have the same price.

I'm pretty sure "hydroneumatic" is the self-leveling rear suspension. I don't think anything but the wagons have it...?

Also, the 32-137 is a performanceproducts code, if you look all their products have a similar code. Also, B36-1855 is the right number... I installed a set on my car yesterday.

Eshocks.com is where I get my shocks from. Yes you can buy just one and they also, typically, have the lowest price ($77.00 I think). I have purchased from them twice.

the numbers i gave above are the correct shocks for your car. they are bilstein's part numbers but many dealers use the same numbers too...although some dealers use their own reference numbers. hydro is only for wagons with self-leveling.

the ones on eshocks.com are non-hydro so they are the ones you want!

really? the other one is not blown, I believe it was well I don't really know but my other shocks are fine not too many miles on them at all

there are people out there that just replace a single shock but you ARE supposed to replace them in pairs. good rule of thumb to follow by...

When this car had all the suspension damage from the frozen bearing, the dealer only replaced the shock it destroyed. There was one other time they did some work (saw it in my records) and replaced another single shock.

Anyone else buy from eshocks? Which have you guys gotten. Sport of HD? Ride difference?

I bought the shocks for both my w202's from eshocks. Both were Bilstein HD's. Had no problems. The difference between them is that HD's are longer (for stock or slightly lowered ride height) other than that the valving, according to Bilstein, is almost identical. The ride wll be harsher on stock springs with Bilstein HD's, but you can't install Sport shocks on stock springs, so if you would rather go Sport, you're gonna have to get lowering springs as well. I cannot attest to the ride quality on Bilstein Sport shocks.

I noticed that the ride on the HD's was especially harsh on the 99 Sport package vs the Elegance package of the 95 I had. However, in the case of my 99, the Eibach Prokits smoothed out the ride dramatically and the 225/50/16 Michelin Pilot Exalto tires I just put on them the day before yesterday smoothed it out even more. In the case of my 95, the 215/60/15 Michelin Pilot tires smoothed out the somewhat harsher ride of the HD's on it as well. So the rule of thumb would be if you're going to lower the car use Bilstein Sport shocks. If not, use HD's and get a wider set of tires. In both cases I used the widest tire possible for the stock rims. My suggestion would be to do all three. Get Bilstein Sport shocks, lowering springs, and either a new set of larger rims & tires or the widest possible tire on the stock rim.
