Hows it goin everyone. Just recently I started using my A/C more and it was working great for a while and then started to blow air that isnt as cold as it used to be. It is still cool but not COLD. I went to a local little tune up place just to ask how much a Freon Recharge is and he quoted me around $250! thats with all the testing for leaks and everything. I am pretty sure that I dont have a leak, should I waste my money on all this, or just find a mechanic that will drain my old freon and put in some fresh freon? I have never had to deal with this problem so any advice would help. Also if anyone knows the cost that would be great too. The car is a 1998 C43. Keep up the good work people. Thanks

Have you checked the cabin air filter? If not, do so, and replace as necessary. I had the same problem with my C36, and the filter was the culprit. When I replaced it, the old filter was absolutely gunked with dirt.

yea another way to know if its your cabin filter is you wont have a very fresh smell, in other words your car would stick when you turn on the AC.

Freon recharge is like $40-80 around me I dont know what the shop is trying to tell you.

Press the button to recirculate the air. If the cooling improoves, it's probably the cabin filter. Then replace it. If the cooling doesn't improove, I would simply add more gas.

the recharge should cost no more than $100 labor and freon cost
