View Full Version : Reverse shift not working sometime

Does anyone has any idea what is the problem with my 96 C230, when I change to reverse gear, it will not go reverse, I need to change shift a few time to work. But all other gear is normal. Is it a big problem?

Thanks! I will go to workshop this Saturday, but do you have any idea what it may cause.

I had a similar problem.
It turned out to be the locking screw comng loose on the linkage rod at the gearbox end.My mechanic took 10mins to adjust it.

Thanks for your info. I called my workshop yesterday and they told me maybe the same reason that you have, hope it is the case, I will have it checked tomorrow. BTW, what is the repairing cost?
