You comaring apple and oranges here. One is a DVD/Mp3 it has all the stops except a 6.5" screen. then you have the jvc that is the same. I have a JVC myself and i love it. Im trying to find prices to compare but its all in pounds and i dont know teh convertion. But here, if you want a DVD unit from JCV that will not hurt that much, Check this out (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Sl4juLXSsZs/cgi-bin/Prodview.asp?g=168550&i=257KDAVX2). With this unit you dont need an external monitor. But both of the pevious units are good units, but i would expect the JVC to hold up more since i have a 8ish year old JVC in my 1978 911 and it still sounds as good as it did the day it rolled of the line.

I, personally, don't like either for car audio. I would save the $ and get something from Eclipse like this from Eclipse (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-aSW60MLDoaK/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=182350&I=099AVN7000) or this from Pioneer (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-aSW60MLDoaK/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=182350&I=130AVICN3)

Both are greatr, im aculy getting an N3 soon. But i think he is just looking for something entry-ish level with MP3 and that kind of thing. But if its from the 2 he said, i still think the JVC is a better buy.

I agree with you ^. I was just saying that if I really wanted to do this, I would save the $ and go for the good stuff!:D

I worked at a shop that fixed car stereos and I was told the internals of the sony's were worthless. JVC is decent, but still not on par with pioneer nor eclipse. If you were to get some of the older model sonys from the early 90's those were good units, but once maufacturers start wanting to make a profit, all the good quality goes out the window.

AGREED.......old school sony's were good but the stuff they are making today is crap. jvc is okay (nothing special) but beware when buying jvc's. alot of their output's burn out early causing complete lose of sound or a huge reduction in sound. you can search and if your lucky you might find info on that but my friend owns a stereo install shop and made me aware of all the recalls jvc puts out because of this!

In my old car I had JVC...was good but nothing like the Pioneer unit I put in a year later.
I would only touch IMO Pioneer or Alpine when going with headunits from the aftermarket.
Ok, I know that there are much better headunits in the Market, but they are cost much more.
About AVX2, the display is to small for DVD looking, and it cost 2 times more than 6202.
I have now alpine, great headunit, but without mp3 mode!
About Eclipse i hear first time, never seen it befor in the Markets in Europe (Austria).
As i understude, nobody knows this Unit 6202/6201!?
What is about lights for dooropenings?
