I have a question for you guys. Would it be worthwhile to put a c43 with 40k miles on the springs and stock and take them and put those springs and shocks on a 1999 non sport c280? Would it lower the car and would this be a great idea versus blitsteins and vogtlands and koni and H&R and so forth.

so c43 springs and shocks on a 99 c280 non sport? will it fly.

Where did you read or hear that it will make it lower?

Definitely not. If you are really interested in lowering your car then go buy the springs and shocks. Check also your pads.

Is there a reason why it wont?

What's the difference between a C43 & C280 stock spring and shock? They're both "STOCK"!!!

i thought the springs and shocks from a c43 would be more hard and less "cushiony" than those of a c280.

the spring rate may be higher and the shocks more sporty but its still STOCK MB, stock mercedes is geared towards old people.

There is no question the damping of a AMG (or sport) shock would be stiffer than that of a non-amg (or sport) shock. You have to remember also that a C43 has a lot more weight up front than a C280. The spring will be rated to handle that weight. If used on a C280 it might even raise your car a bit (marginally).

PS I don't know any old people that drive C43's?

Mercedes and the AMG line as a whole is geared more towards older people. The suspesion is nice and soft for the tushy and they dont have Manual transmissions.

I would think the front would jack up for sure given the different engine wieghts....mines jacked 100 without an engine heh

If you were putting the C43 springs on a V6 c280 i would imagine it would jack it up, but if they were going in a I-6 car i would imagine it would be lower as the C36-C280 of the I-6 style engine are heavier than a C43 with an Alum block as opposed to a steel block like the i-6
