My next mod in the works is complete audio up-grade. I plan on one in-dash and MB quarts 6.5-5.25 components w/ a 6-channel amp and 12 gauge speaker wires...
The question is has anyone used these (AUTOLEADS) speaker adapters?
I see them everywhere online, yet nobody seems to have anything to say in here
Hmmm,I havent seen them, got my 6.5 adapters from another benz at the wreckers...they were the only set out of like 20 202's lol...

this is how I installed 6.5 inch polk db's in the front doors of my car, on a non bose system. I just used 3-4 zip ties to hold the speaker on the speaker mounting bracket that bolts onto the door.

here is the picture of the wire that goes to the door speakers. I unplugged the wire and extended it from there to the amp in my trunk. (its not a good idea to run 100% new wire through the doors, its hard work)

agreed with alphanumeric on running new wires through the doors unless you have experience with installing systems. the reason being is the rubber grommet going through the door is not a huge circle inside. its a bunch of small circles with wires going through each of the circles making it very hard to snake the wires through. however which some effect and time it can be done. use a Extra Large & wide zip tie (about 3ft long). i got it from my friends stereo install shop. then tape the wire to it and snake it through. the front doors are just as hard as the rear doors...believe me!!!!! you will get frustrated but keep trying, it'll go through.

I’m sure the wiring will take me the better part of a day…
But I work at a dealer and have a custom installer whom could be on pimp my ride.
I already talked him down from ten gauge wire…
But the speaker adapters? Anyone? Good idea?

Yes I used them and can highly recommend them. They even come complete with the funny looking Mercedes connection and interface wiring to pick up the standard spade type terminals on your new spaekers.

Awesome… thank you so much OzC36, I will be ordering those soon enough.
My guy gets everything at whole sale in New York so I’ll have to wait till then.
I’ll do my best to document the install.
