my C230 only has one big fan (electric) that is mounted to the radiator - it wont turn off!

im not talking about the one bolted to the water pump.

so how can this be fixed ... I know its supposed to go off at some point - but it didnt and Ive had the car on for a few hours. AC is always off (dnt know if that matters) and the outside temp it around 95, engine temp. under 80.

It might be your fuse.

Hey is yours the model without the dual front fans?...if so the control system for your single fan is similar to the control for the dual front fans...and is alittle complex due to the 3-4 sensors involved in the decission to turn the fan on and at what voltage.

it could however be the temp prob(s) on your thermostate housing,so check there connected properly.... i know if i disconnect mine the fans go constantly.
i'll ding up the info on what resistances they should be at a given temp tonight(if you havent already got it fixed).
also most 202's have a dual temp sensor, where others have two seperate, mine has just one to run the AC and ECU/fans,for some reason im an odd one out.

yea I dont have those two dual fans in the front.

just one electric fan behind the radi.

I start the car, 30seconds later the fan turns ON, my friend drove the car for about three hours - I was with him the fan wouldnt turn off until we shut the car off.

and if theres a fuse that I can check where do I find it ?

most of the time you'd think your coolant was low or the connector at the fans was unplugged causing the fans to turn on constantly. but that would make your coolant light turn "on". my guess would be the sensor at the thermostat, like paul had mentioned already. "check it out for resistance specs"

no, what I do is I spray Armor-All on a rag and wipe the engine parts.

hey, checked my manual...but didnt find the temp sensor info i spoke of.

Any progress on the fault finding??
an open circuit on the AC sensors could also cause fault, dont ask me where they are though;)
there is also the fan control unit which could be at fault.

nothing changed. the car is still drivable in its current condition, doesnt bother me much but I dnt really like the air-plane Sound FX

I dont even know where to begin looking for problems,
