Hey guys, My cars running hot around 90-95. Is that normal? I'm new here and I'm trying to catch-up.

I noticed some 202's have two fans infront of the radiator (behind the grill). I only have one wth a shroud behind the radiator. Is it a good idea to add auxillary fans infront of the radiator? Will that help lower the temp?

I am having the same problem with my 202... it seems to run hotter then it used to in the past few years..

I tried this.. I opened my hood, started my engine, wraped a Tshirt around my hand and tried to stop the fan while it was spinning.. then I reved the engine pretty high and I didnt even feel any force from the fan trying to spin.. so I guess the clutch on my fan is dead? or are these electro magnetic?

The engine fan is temp cotrolled by the under hood temp not by the engine temp. So if you just started your car you can stop it.

I've never even heard of a Mercedes with no aux fans in front of the radiator. 'Cept reaaaaally old ones.

most 98-up 4 bangers and possible others have an electric radiator fan and no auxiliary ones.
