225 fits best up front, up to 265 in the rear with the proper offset

the offset will be stamped on the back of the rim. 245s from an eclass should fit just fine in the back. you might be able to make them work up front with hubcentric spacers and a lot of fender massaging. i think it would be your best bet to switch out with 225s...

you'll have to roll your front fenders to the point of actually stretching out the lip to fit 245 ; offset will be critical too (it could rub either or both inside and outside if not perfect when you turn especially if you're lowered); you may find you need a spacer up front to push the wheels out then that will ensure rubbing on the outside. Jeff [speedybenz] did it at that size. He eventually had the fender's wheelwell cut and a wider lip installed. like said above, 225 is perfect; not alota room inside the stock 202 wheelwell.

Sorry I actually have 245/40/17 on the back wheels of my C43, but next month I should be getting my 18" Brabus Mono V. I got 225 at the front, when I do change the wheels I will not be messing with the tyre width.

c55m8o, how much hassle was it to fit the 55 engine?. My father and I are looking into it he's a mechanical engineer (retired), I've been quoted 7k for W210 55 engine and fitting. 10K for supercharging the current engine to 426bhp, and 13k for a W211 55 engine and fitting, I would love to do it but it's a hell of lot of money, but for 14k I've found a w210 facelifted E55.

I might just get it chipped and leave it at that.

$14K for the whole car? JUMP ON IT! ;) (though it might be beat and tired so then no). Why I did the 5.4L engine is not only 25% more displacement (noteworthy when you look @ it like that), but the beefier crank and silica-steel sleeves. But you get less benefit for the cost and effort put in. Best bang for the buck is S/C the 4.3L engine though, no question.

Click the link in my sig and read the [long] thread ; it strays with some b/s for a bit but comes back. The swap to a W210 E55 engine is pure plug & play.

Swap to a W211 SC Engine? My mechnaic who did the work who is incredible and I would describe as -fearless- when it comes to moding MBs, is not eager to do it on my car so that's all I need to hear. Problem is these cars have many ECUs (engine, tranni, body) and all talk to each other. And the W211 uses a completely different set of control units & versions. The W210 and W202 were pretty much the same thing. W202 and W211 is a very different story.

But with the W211 sc engine in a C43 would be fun though:grin:
