Im not sure, but I think you have to keep the switch in closed position for a period of time, that is if the mechanical parts are still intact, such as the cable and the track.

close the roof and open the back side and keep the button down for 2 seconds.

either the track is bent or the cable is stretched.

I've had the same problem, once or twice a year. One solution that works ... most of the time ... is with your key. If you hold the unlock button for however many seconds, all of the windows AND sunroof are opened. Holding the lock button, correspondingly, closes them all. For some reason, the sunroof behaves properly during this procedure and usually returns to proper behavior when using the interior sunroof switch. Sometimes you need to cycle it a few times. I have also had it not work, then for some unknown reason, days later the sunroof starts working normally without my intervention. Kind of insane.

Mine seems to need a reset every few weeks...it gets stuck in the "up" position. The reset always works...but is this indicative of another problem? Seems odd.
