Im sure theres a topic here on the forum, but iv checked and cant seem to locate it.
Cant someone suggest what oil i should use in my 97 c230.
10w 40 or 15w 50
Living in new zealand, bit colder weather so some information would be good. are mercedes filter and brake disks difficult to change. Mainly the fact that merc uses all the fancy tools (non metric) at times, thanx

I use mobil1 5-50,seems to be fine...
to change your oil filter its easier to go to a MB parts supplier like startech and get the correct tool to remove the plastic cap....
brake pads on the 202 are easily changed like on most cars....

I run 0w-40 mobile1 synthetic in my c230 kompressor. I would run 15w-50 mobile1 if i had a N/A car with 100k+ miles on it.
I have run both 0W-40 Mobil 1 and 5W-40 Syntech.
Given the choice, I would go with Mobil 1.

I checked mobil 1 website and they recommend 0w-40
Yea-I use Mobil 1 0w-40. Local dealer is using 5w-30. , but MB recomends 0w-40 as I recall.
