    K&N drop in filter?

I'm not trying to to get a cold air intake cause I like the oem look but if I put a k&n replacement filter will it make the car louder the way a cone style filter would. I'm just looking to make the motor sound beefier without having to change much.

When i installed mine, which has now been tossed for a cold air. I didnt notice much at all. Maybe a bit, but you would have to listen for it, but not much. Even though, i did see a bit better gas milage and a small differece in the "livelyness" of the motor, if you will

well when i used to push the engine to the limit, you could clearly hear the filter acting up, the sound of the engine was rougher, and i enjoyed the more sporty sound a lot in the tunnel...

but no performance advantages at all...when i would drive for a long time i felt like i lost some hp's and not gained
