I dont have a leak afaik, so i wouldnt use the "STOP leak" personally, but I wouldnt know if my trans was sliping either... would it be advisable to use the "STOP slip", as I am planing on getting the dip stick to see if the box needs a oil change or not anyway, and would generaly just like to improve the performance/efficiany of the transmision..

the thing about lucas is that their products are a good "last resort" when transmission failure is emminent. however, as a preventative measure product, I would not recommend it. If that is what you are looking into, Id suggest you look into the following brands:
    1)lubegard
    2)pro-blend
    3)system one
you might want to check out my threads on this, too:

also, search the site, I believe cklasse had posted a link to a test showing that lucas engine oil treatment is actually bad for your engine because it causes the oil to foam.

    LOL!

    Can you say "Snake Oil"???

Seriously though. If your trans is on the way out and wanna sell the car, go fo it. However, don't count on it "fixing" any of your problems.

a few years ago when my tranny hit 250,000 miles it started shifting really hard so i tried that lucas crap and within a month it completely died and lost line pressure. i was putting it in reverse and the tranny just stayed in neutral. my advice is don't use it!!!

trust "nenad" on this topic as he has been testing these products for years!
