    Painting Calipers

    I know this probably has been discussed, but what colour to paint my rusty calipers? Red Silver or Stock Black?

    I have a firemist red SLk, so I painted it RED.. If I was privalaged enough to own a 202, I would probably paint the calipers black or silver.. classy IMHO....

    Painting itself is easy.. I got Kleemann's first US product, the G2 paint kit. Its a two part paint and sealer and a brake cleanming solution from Brakekleen...

    The kit comes with enough paint to do all four calipers with a couple of coats each.. Invest in cleanign the grime off your caliper and that way ther paint will go on brighter and easier.. thats it.. not hard at all even for a moron like me.

    wow, you can see your calipers through those monoblocks? I find this mod a lot of work for barely being able to see the effects. Now if you have SLK320's wheels, this is a must...

    I have carlsson 1/5 on my 202. My car is silver so i painted my calipers silver also. I just went to shucks or you can go to any automotive store and buy some high heat resistant paint.

    Take off you wheel.

    Clean the caliper with a wire brush and some kinda solution.

    Use masking tape to cover the brake and parts you dont want colored.

    spray on the paint. do like 3-4 coats or until it is brite and glossy.

    let dry

    Put back on tire.

    If you get any on your rotor its okay when you brake while driving the paint will get rubbed off.

    thanks guys, i think the suntle silver is going to be the way, althought i was thinking about the red like the porsches and the audi. RS`s.

    Scott, you can see alot of the front caliper on 18" mono`s! and when the wheel is spinning its even more so in yer face!

    Heres a Pic of my caliper ALps. When the wheel is spinning it is really visible and adds that extra sport touch. On my calipers the Letter ///AMG are imprinted in black its pretty cool and easy and cheap.
