To Charcoal, or not to Charcoal?

Is there any reason why one would not want to replace their cabin filter with a charcoal version? The upside seems to be odor removal. Price is about the same when buying online. What is the downside?

    Thanks.

i can't think of a downside honestly. Would also help to remove some more of the emissions smell entering the cabin through that filtration system if you have a pinhole leak in your exhaust, or breather system.

Might not be related, but my car always smells like baby powder. Nothing overbearing, just a slight hint. I have a charcoal filter, anyone else notice this powder smell?
