i dont see why not if you're in a climate that permits a week without rain/moisture. it's mostly just there as a beauty panel and to keep the plugs and coils dry.

If your taking the whole cover off?!?!,get a suitable cover(like a rubbish bag) and tape it to the head after removal so dust doesnt get in.

Are you removing the whole valve cover,or just the spark plug/coil cover?
if you are removing the whole cover the vehicle will not be usable,so the engine will not be hot.
