    what kickpanels?

i have some for sale that hold 3" speakers

I made fiberglass door pods for a 6.5" speaker out of the stock speaker grilles.

You may be able to fit some other 6.5s in there, but to get anything decent and get it mounted right a set-up similar to mine (where it comes "out" from the door some more" is probably necessary.

i'm planning to do a simple set up...i saw kick pods from q-logic...it gives you better imaging coz your speaker are aimed directly to your ears.

    yes it does!

it is most important to get the higher frequencies imaged correctly though- if you run a 3-way component set-up or even a 2-way having the 6.5s in the stock area won't really hurt the imaging. The tweeter and any other higher freq. speaker (from the 3-way example) are far more important.

    no, no, and no.
i bought 6.5" and they don't bloody fit.
mine were 3.7" thick, probably thats why.
but either way, it's a pain in the arse to fit 6.5"s.

    try 5"s.
