    Seafoam!!!

well i decited to get some sea foam today, i took it over to my uncles house to help me out...well with engine running he poured it into the vacuum line while i was on the pedal keeping it at about 2000rom to keep it from stalling out...anyways, got it all in and shut the car off and let it sit for about 7 min...then i started it up without hesitation from the motor...with sea foam your suppose to get this huge smoke screen well let me tell you...i didnt get shit!...let it sit and run and rev for the following 10 min and nothing..so i started driving down the street and when it got to about 3000 i felt it almost wanting to stall so gave it more gas and them..BAM...this huge single puff of smoke came from the ass...and i regained power.. drove it up to 90mph on the interstate and it was fine so drove about 10 more miles...then took it to the gas station poured remaining 2/3 of can into tank and filled the car up with 93...basicly did i do anything wrong to make it do one big puff instead of the 10 min of smoking or was my car just carbon free?..i hope nothing is damaged...but seems to be running fine...

naw thats normal. if you revved higher it would have made more smoke. do a few performance bursts and it will get most of it out of the system. MBs have such restrictive cats that it won't produce nearly as much smoke as say on an afteramarket high flow cat or etc. You did everything the right way. I always run a full can of seafoam on only a half tank of gas (very concentrated dose) and it usually does wonder, gets rid of all hesitation and etc. now enjoy

it was just strange though that after it had been started nothng happened...it was when i was driving about 10 min later...and the ppl behind me must of thought i did the crazyst burn out...hahaha...either that or...that POS!!...haha...so the big burst is normal then? as oppose to the long smoke

you really should'nt put a load on the engine with seafoam in the system, and i would drain the oil immediately.

he is talkinga bout if you pour seafoam into the oil. Pouring seafoam in gas tank and doing the vacuum method is totally fine. Don't worry everything is fine. If you have no cats there would have been a huge cloud so no worries.

yea please do tell us, im curious to see if you had any smoke and if you did, did it come out in one huge puff at about 3500 while driving.....im thinking i didnt put it in the right vacum line...but it definitly some sort of vacum line that came off the throttle body..oh well too late now...i think its starting to kick in to my gas now too..i can sometime feel my engine, not want to stall, but give a slight abnormal sputter...ill run it down to about 1/8th tank and fill up with 93 again...then i pray it runs like brand new...but i still have about 250-300 miles till then...

Wow.... this stuff is amazing. I loaded 8oz into the 1/4th tank I had and the other into the vacuum line on the TB(the one that has a 90 degree elbow on it). I then fed it till the engine began to nearly stall, then I turned it off myself cause I didn't want to hydrolock the engine. I then waited 15minutes and started it after a few moments of hesitation. I didn't get any smoke untiul I revved it above 1k rpm, then I got lots and lots of it. The car ran very badly for about 2 miles, then gradually cleared up. I then ran it on the interstate for about 30 miles after which I filled up with 93 octane. On the interstate run, which is nearly all flat, I averaged 36mpg. which is about right by my figuring due to the hot air, highflow filter, and open exhaust. I used to manage about 30 at most. After filling up, I did a 0-60 test and came up with an average of 7.7 seconds without brake torquing. I think thats pretty goos considering its about 95, and I had a passenger, a full tank, and about 100lbs of stuff in the trunk. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wishes to restore their car's performance.

That depends on how dirty it was in the first place. I know mine was pretty bad due to the amount of white smoke that came out. But, yes, you will feel a difference.

i was reading the way you pour it in the vaccum line.... is there a certain funnel or device you pour it in or? since the vacuum line is pretty small ... if i decide not to run it threw the vacuum line and just pour it in the gas tank is that a waste of time? since mine is supercharged is there any difference or warnings about this product?

You just put it in a cup or something and insert the tube into it, you have to suck as much in at a time as possible while keeping the engine running. I would put one can in the tank, and 6oz into the engine.

i just put the vaccum line directly in the seafoam can, then i suck it in bit by bit, and also I manuall open the throttle to like 2000 rpm and suck it in (creates more smoke this way and really helps clean up everything b/c its moving faster through the system). hope that helps.

holy shit do you have enough questions....

    lets see...

i put mine in while reving the engine...my suggestion would be to put 1/3 in a cup and suck out of that...and 2 grand is perfect for revs, kinda hard to keep it there though because the engine wants to stall out, then i put the remainder in the gas tank...

i put mine in a tiny vacuum line thats located off the side of the throttle body, if your unsure, unplug it whil;e the engine is on to see if anything happens...

no i dont have any pics...some bitch stole my camera

i paid like 5.95 @ autozone, but im sure they have it at pep boys, advanced...places like that...i would call around first..

and dont quote me on any of this, i wasnt the actual one doing it, my uncle did and he was a factory nissan driver so i lets him mess with it..i just watched

Can someone please please please show a picture of the exact hose to suck the seafoam in with?!?! I have been pulling hoses and all day but to no avail. Someone please help.

On another note, i put it in my crankcase, drove ten miles, and changed the oil with ROYAL PURPLE. Great results.

honestly, you don't need to do the vacuum method. The gas tank method will give you identical results on the M104. Just put a full can at half tank full (concentrated dose), then run the piss out of the car.

Does this really help the car that much?

Yes I have done the gas tank method but i have seen and heard great results about the vacuum line method. I would like to try it to see if I notice any gains. I just need a pic of the line I am to use.

Usually its not recommended to use the vacuum line method if you have a plastic poly------- intake manifold, you don't know how it may react. I did it on my old 93 M104 and had no problems but I am weary about doing it to this one.
