I think you made the right choice..

I bought Bekker Bosch HID when I had my C36 as well. One of the best investment in IMHO.

    some pic from my gallery

A lot of people forget that W202 chassis was designed for the late 90's . Putting projector look alike headlight, or put something like angel-eyes ring only making the car look out of place...

    its been done before...

I am not sure if the thread still exist...but Nokia is one of the ember that been doing a lot experiment with putting HID bulb kit into Halogen housing the result is as follow:

    - . While it provide the HID looks (because he has installed real HID buld and ballast), the light cut out is not clear. Why ? Because the Halogen refelctor is not designed for HID bulb.
HID bulb generate a lot more lumens vs Halogen bulb.

-. Because the reflector design incompatibility as a result not all light generated by the HID being reflected/redirected properly. Thus blinding incoming driver. Many people don't realized this, but this is safety concern. I for one would be very pissed if the oncoming car produce HID glare while I am driving. (if you think Halogen glares is bad, think about how bad glare produce by HID).

-. Another plus of the Bosch HID headlight unit (which Bekker sell) is that the inside rectangular frame are chrome as opposed to grey color on the halogen headlight (post 96). Which give the brighter and cleaner headlight altogether. It improves your car appearance. (IMHO).

I thought I read somewhere before that HID retrofit is illegal now. because of the driving safety and the glare it produce.

Bekkers Import Corp. just told me that they no longer have the HID setup because Bosch discontinued them about a year ago.

Anyone still have an uninstalled (or even installed) kit that they'd like to sell?
