amg trunk emblem

ok so i bought a set of AMG hood and trunk emblems off ebay. The hood emblem was a breeze and went right in no problem. the trunk emblem however is a different story.

Before you all tell me to search, im not asking how the old emblem comes off because i already know and ive already removed it and put it back on before. I searched but did not find anyone that has purchased a trunk emblem that is supposed to fit like the one i purchased.

ive noticed that the OEM trunk star is slightlty curved to accomdate the shape of the trunk. The badge i purchased however is not. It is held in by screws that fit through two of the three holes that were made to hold the star in. The badge has several holes (5 i think) to allow the installer to center the badge correctly. My problem is that i cant seem to position it low enough on the trunk to make it sit flush below the part of the trunk where it starts to curve. The only pic i could find at the moment is the one from the auction.

crap i ordered those SAME emblems a month ago but i cancelled the order cuz i thot i wud have the same problem

Were those badges ever really made OEM by AMG?
I know all the ones that I have seen are made in Taiwan or China...

If it was someones idea to design this badge then I would consider buying this even if it's aftermarket..I mean it looks good enough to make people think AMG actually created it. Kinda like those other square badges that I have seen around on Ebay.

yes it came from taiwan but it says "BRABUS" on it so im thinkin its a replica for sure.

i got the trunk emblem on and just as i thought the top of the emblem doesnt quite sit flush on the trunk. I dont know if i like it or not...the problem is that if i take it off i cant put it back on...id have to buy another...

ill keep it on for now and see if it annoys me.

Some sites do not allow direct linking to their images so you need to use a free image hosting service.

alright guys finally got some pics of em. The first two are the hood and the last three are the trunk. Sorry forthe poor quality...it was my camera phone.







I think i will be removing the trunk emblem as it just doesnt fit like Id like it to and i just tested to see if it leaked water into the trunk and it does. Id really like to find a trunk badge with this logo that fits like the good ol' star

Not bad - the hood badge looks like it's flushed, nice and clean. The trunk, well, umm, you are right, just replace those since it doesn't look and function right.
