My '98 C280 Sport locks the doors automatically at 10-15km/h (Imported from Germany to Sweden by previous owner, Think around 2002)

The 98' models don't seem to have that convenience. I've noticed that in the 98' C43 that the doors have to be manually locked by pushing the central locking button, while my 99' C230 does not. I'm guessing that it does have something to do with Mercedes tweaking the CAN-bus as part of the facelift.

Yes, yes it did. But Mercedes did continue updating the facelift electronically through the last years of the model range.

hi to turn off or on the auto anti hijacking do this

put key in ignition turn to position 2 do not start the car

hold the door locking button down for 6 seconds to engage that when you drive over 5 to 10 km it will lock all doors

if you want to stop it do the same again to stop it

i have this on my 1999 c200, was this a factory option or is it available on all facelift 202s. is horgantrevor's description above good for all 202s with the new key fob? its kinda cool, always impresses when the doors lock and I have both hands on the steering wheel

need to try this again... i had to have my mech rewire electrical from the fusebox to my aftermarket alarm system which i thought went bad.

yours is pre-update, it won't work. I tried this process on my 97 C230 several times. Didn't work.
However it does work on my W210 E55.

My US spec 98 C43 has auto locking. As a matter of fact, my door would never be locked while driving if not for this feature.
